About Epicnap

What is Epicnap?

Epicnap is a mobile app (iOS and Android) that helps you reduce sleep procrastination and build better sleep habits. It combines automatic sleep tracking, a Goal Bedtime, procrastination trends, routines and habit reminders, and Sleep Tools like meditation, breathing, music, and nature sounds.

What is sleep procrastination (in Epicnap terms)?

Sleep procrastination is the gap between your Goal Bedtime and your actual sleep start. Example: Goal Bedtime 23:00 and sleep start 00:30 equals 90 minutes of sleep procrastination. Epicnap calculates this automatically.

Do I need a wearable to use Epicnap?

No. Epicnap can read sleep data from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Fit / Health Connect (Android) when you connect them. If you do not connect health apps, Epicnap can still infer sleep using phone signals (no wearable required).

How does Epicnap track my sleep?

Epicnap uses Apple HealthKit on iOS and Google Fit / Health Connect on Android to read sleep data when available (including stages like deep, REM, light, and awake). If health apps are not connected, Epicnap can infer sleep from phone signals and screen state.

Can Epicnap remind me to start winding down?

Yes. You can set a Goal Bedtime, configure routines, and add habits with custom repeat days. You can also set reminders that trigger a certain number of minutes before your Goal Bedtime.

What are Sleep Tools?

Sleep Tools are in-app relaxation options, including guided meditation audio, breathing exercises with visual guidance, calming music, and nature sounds. Many people use these as a low-stimulation replacement for late-night scrolling.

Does Epicnap include mood tracking or self-reports?

Yes. Epicnap supports quick mood checks (for example a 1 to 5 scale) and optional self-reports. This helps you spot patterns between your day and your sleep behavior.

Are surveys and research required?

No. Surveys are optional and related to the research context the app was developed in. You can opt in or out, and you can withdraw consent.

Where can I read Epicnap sleep articles?

Epicnap includes an education section that fetches articles from Epicnap.com. These posts are designed to work both on the website and inside the app.
